Rainfall

Wuppertal is said to be the rainiest city in Germany, while Magdeburg belongs to those cities with very little rainfall. The image shows the data for the years 1951 to 1997 from top to bottom and the days from left to right. The Rainfall in Wuppertal is shown with blue dots and in Magdeburg with orange dots. The volume of rain is related to the density of the dots.

Wind forces

The mountain Brocken is famous for strong wind. The image shows the wind forces for the years 1975 to 2024 from top to bottom. For a single year, the wind forces, measured six times a day, are shown for every day from left to right. The stronger the wind, the more slanted is the line, representing a single measurement. The color shows the direction from which the wind came.

Daily temperatures

The daily temperatures in Berlin are measured by the meterological institute of the Freie Universität Berlin in the Berlin-Dahlem area. The image shows the data for every day of a year from left to right and the years from 1950 to 2024 from bottom to top. Every single day is classified as a cold, cool, mild or warm day, according to the daily average temperature. This is represented by four colors from turquoise to orange.

Lottery numbers

The lottery 6 aus 49 began in West-Germany in 1955 and still exists today. The six winning numbers are determined each week and are available on the internet in the order in which they were drawn. I have depicted the first 551 draws (from 9 October 1955 to 30 April 1966) and created an image in which each draw is presented as a polygon chain.

The lottery numbers were obtained from westlotto on the 10 January 2025.
